Privacy policy
Last updated 9 September 2026. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.
What we collect
| Data | When |
|---|---|
| Name and email address | When you place an order or use the contact form |
| Billing address and country | When required for tax on an order |
| Order details and licence keys issued | When you buy |
| Message content | When you contact support |
| A one-way hash of your IP address and your browser user-agent | On contact-form submissions, for abuse prevention |
We do not collect payment card numbers, we do not buy personal data from third parties, and we do not build advertising profiles.
Why we collect it
- To fulfil your order — issuing and delivering your licence key, and proving entitlement later.
- To support you — answering enquiries, replacing keys, processing refunds.
- To meet legal obligations — tax and accounting records.
- To prevent abuse — rate-limiting and blocking automated form submissions.
Payments
Payments are processed by a PCI-DSS compliant payment provider. Card details are entered on the provider's systems and are never transmitted to or stored on our servers. We receive only a confirmation, the last four digits, and the billing details needed for the receipt.
Who we share it with
We share the minimum necessary with:
- Our payment provider, to take payment and process refunds.
- The software publisher or distributor, where a key must be registered to your email address.
- Our email delivery provider, to send your key and our replies.
- Our accountant and, where legally required, tax authorities.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
How long we keep it
- Order and invoice records: seven years, for tax purposes.
- Support correspondence: two years from the last message.
- Contact-form abuse-prevention data: 90 days.
Cookies
This site sets a single session cookie, used to keep your contact form secure against cross-site request forgery. It contains no personal data, is deleted when you close your browser, and there is nothing to opt into. We do not run third-party advertising or analytics trackers on this site. If that changes, this section will be updated and a consent banner added first.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to access a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to processing, receive it in a portable format, and — in the U.S. — opt out of any sale or sharing of it (we do neither). Email support@example.com and we will respond within 30 days. We will not charge you or treat you differently for exercising these rights.
Records we are legally required to keep — invoices, chiefly — cannot be deleted on request until the retention period ends.
