Privacy policy

Last updated 9 September 2026. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.

What we collect

DataWhen
Name and email addressWhen you place an order or use the contact form
Billing address and countryWhen required for tax on an order
Order details and licence keys issuedWhen you buy
Message contentWhen you contact support
A one-way hash of your IP address and your browser user-agentOn contact-form submissions, for abuse prevention

We do not collect payment card numbers, we do not buy personal data from third parties, and we do not build advertising profiles.

Why we collect it

  • To fulfil your order — issuing and delivering your licence key, and proving entitlement later.
  • To support you — answering enquiries, replacing keys, processing refunds.
  • To meet legal obligations — tax and accounting records.
  • To prevent abuse — rate-limiting and blocking automated form submissions.

Payments

Payments are processed by a PCI-DSS compliant payment provider. Card details are entered on the provider's systems and are never transmitted to or stored on our servers. We receive only a confirmation, the last four digits, and the billing details needed for the receipt.

Who we share it with

We share the minimum necessary with:

  • Our payment provider, to take payment and process refunds.
  • The software publisher or distributor, where a key must be registered to your email address.
  • Our email delivery provider, to send your key and our replies.
  • Our accountant and, where legally required, tax authorities.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.

How long we keep it

  • Order and invoice records: seven years, for tax purposes.
  • Support correspondence: two years from the last message.
  • Contact-form abuse-prevention data: 90 days.

Cookies

This site sets a single session cookie, used to keep your contact form secure against cross-site request forgery. It contains no personal data, is deleted when you close your browser, and there is nothing to opt into. We do not run third-party advertising or analytics trackers on this site. If that changes, this section will be updated and a consent banner added first.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to processing, receive it in a portable format, and — in the U.S. — opt out of any sale or sharing of it (we do neither). Email support@example.com and we will respond within 30 days. We will not charge you or treat you differently for exercising these rights.

Records we are legally required to keep — invoices, chiefly — cannot be deleted on request until the retention period ends.
